Alzheimer’s Association Education Series

The Alzheimer’s Association, North Central Texas Chapter, will be offering free educational classes for those wanting to expand their knowledge of how to understand, recognize the signs, and live healthier while experiencing or caring for those with Alzheimer’s. Registration required.

AARP Smart Driver Course

Improve driving skills and be more aware of other drivers to ensure greater safety on the road. This
course may be used to qualify for insurance discounts based on your insurance carrier’s business
decisions; however, it cannot be used for dismissal of a ticket. Registration and a current driver’s license are required. Pay fees at the time of class with cash or a check. All instructional materials and certificates of completion are provided at the end of class.

Confused by Medicare?

Whether you are aging into Medicare this year or are already enrolled, come to this complimentary workshop which will cover part A, B, C, and D of this government health benefit that can be quite confusing. Come and learn more about the basics and intricacies of Medicare at this session which will be hosted by Matt Curry, a licensed insurance agent. Topics to be covered include the differences between basic government Medicare, Medicare Supplements, Medicare Advantage Plans, Part D drug plans, and former employer supplemental coverage available to some participants. This is an educational event so no need to bring your checkbook. This event is for you
to relax and ask questions to be better informed about your choices. If you need individual help Matt does represent a number of insurance companies’ plans and will schedule follow up appointments. Tarrant County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Seminar

Texas is the most impacted state in the U.S. regarding natural disasters, so knowing how to prepare is essential. This personal preparedness presentation aims to introduce various aspects of being prepared for emergencies and disasters. Participants will learn about the different types of disasters they are at risk of, how to create an emergency plan, how to build a disaster supply kit, and how to sign up for emergency alerts. Registration required.
